Dear Friends and Colleagues,
The start of the New Year is traditionally the time for us to practice writing (kakizome), to contemplate the coming year, and to reach out to family and friends, employees, customers, clients and business associates.
Last year, all of us in Japan were affected by the most challenging and extraordinary events imaginable. I want to assure you that in 2012 FORTE will continue to assist you in these troubled times by playing a role as a responsible member of our community of scientists, doctors, nurses, researchers and engineers. We will continue to provide pro bono translation, editing, rewriting and interpretation for emergency communications.
It has been said that “The future is not yet written”—that there is no fate other than that which we make for ourselves.
Together, let us help you to “Write the Future” of Japan throughout this year as you prepare your manuscripts for publication on the international stage.
In this 25th Anniversary year of Forte’s existence, I wish to thank you deeply for your patronage. On behalf of everyone at Forte, I wish to express our best wishes for your health and prosperity in 2012.

親愛なる皆様へ
新しい年に思いを馳せ、家族や友人、社員、お客様、またビジネスを共に築いて来た方たちとのつながりを確かめたく、日本の慣わしである書初めにならってペンを執り、ここに新春のご挨拶申し上げます。
日本に住む私たちにとって昨年は、想像を絶する出来事に直面した試練の年となりました。2012年、FORTEは科学者、医師、看護師、研究者そしてエンジニアの方々からなるコミュニティの一員として、このように困難な時期を共に乗り切るため、皆様のお役に立てるよう努力していく所存です。私たちはこれからも緊急時におけるコミュニケーションの確保のために、無償で翻訳、校正、通訳を提供するボランティア活動を続けてまいります。
「未来は無限大」という言葉があります。定まった道というものはなく、未来は自らの手で切り拓いていくものだということを教えてくれます。
皆様が新しい年に国際舞台で研究成果を発表すること、それは日本の「未来を創造する」ことに他なりません。私たちFORTEがそのお手伝いをいたします。
皆様にご愛顧いただき今年FORTEは設立25周年記念の年を迎えることができました。心より感謝申し上げるとともに、今後とも変わらぬご支援を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。 社員一同より、新しい年の皆様のご健康と一層のご発展をお祈り申し上げます。
