Translation
Our specialist translators are professionals with years of industry experience. Many of them have PhDs, MDs and are certified/licensed professionals who will help you produce a document that expresses your intended meaning accurately and clearly. Before the translation is returned to you, one of our specialist rewriters will edit the translation to ensure consistency of language and logical flow, and will provide suggestions for improving the final version of the document when necessary. Throughout the translation process you have the opportunity to "polish" the document and return it for further editing.
Rewriting
Our professional native-speaking rewriters have strong academic backgrounds with many having earned advanced degrees, certifications and licenses. Our rewriters have many years of experience in their respective fields and many are also published authors. You can be confident that your paper or abstract will be rewritten by a specialist in the field who is skilled in science communications.
Our specialist rewriters will edit your text to target publication in an academic journal. Please inform us of your specific needs with respect to submission target (journal, presentation, website, internal document, brochure, or patient questionnaire), style (British or American spelling and grammar or the use of first-person versus third-person), target audience (specialist or general), and extent of rewriting (substantive, standard, or light grammar check).
We can work directly in most editable file formats and even work "on paper" if the need arises. We can rewrite your TEX documents without disrupting the TEX format, thus saving you valuable time in manuscript preparation.

In-house Rewriters (part-time and full-time)
We edit research papers for authors preparing for publication in English language journals. Applicants should have a strong science background, excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for detail. FORTE works with doctors, scientists and engineers from the Japanese academic and corporate sectors.
We are looking for team players who can work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment. Japanese language ability is not required for in-house rewriter positions, but can be an asset.
Freelance Rewriters
Our freelance rewriters take editing work on an independent contractor basis. Applicants should have a strong science background, excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Editing jobs will comprise research papers, presentations, abstracts, and other documents written by doctors, scientists and engineers. Freelance rewriters must be reliable and take pride in their work. Japanese language ability is not required.

We are looking for translators with a strong science background who are capable of translating abstracts and journal articles from Japanese to English.
Freelance Translators
We are looking for Japanese-to-English translators with a strong science background. FORTE works with doctors, scientists and engineers from the Japanese academic and corporate sectors, and handles various types of documents including abstracts, journal articles, and manuals.
** We are actively seeking translators with medical backgrounds, particularly surgery, dentistry, and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control). **
