Personal Information Protection Policy
As a leading company in science communications, Forte, Inc. (hereafter, “the Company”) engages in business operations based on the corporate philosophy of promoting the exchange of opinions among researchers on a global level and contributing to promotion of knowledge by providing high-quality translation and English rewriting services to doctors, researchers, scientists, and engineers belonging to universities, research institutions, and corporations. The Company recognizes that the appropriate protection of personal information is one of our highest management priorities, as a business entity that handles important personal information from customers in providing translation, English rewriting, and other services. Accordingly, we prescribe the following policy for personal information protection, in order to formulate and execute a systematic management system for personal information protection that is integrated into our overall management activities, and to maintain and continually improve the management system.
The Company will comply with applicable laws such as those concerning the handling of personal information that we take in, and comply with guidelines prescribed by the Japanese government as well as other standards. Furthermore, the Company will review our initiatives under the management system as appropriate for personal information protection and institute improvements.
Acquisition, use, and provision of personal information
When taking in personal information, the Company will wherever possible clearly indicate the personal information items and purpose of use, and obtain consent before taking in the information. The Company will only acquire, use, or provide personal information within the scope of the purpose of use.
However, if it is necessary for the purpose of protecting the rights, interests, life, or body of an individual such as in accordance with laws, the Company may use or provide his or her personal information with or without obtaining consent.
Prevention of the leakage, loss, damage, etc. of personal information and corrective action
The Company will implement appropriate measures for security control so as to prevent the leakage, loss, damage, etc. of personal information that we take in, and will continuously make corrections and improvements based on audit.
Continuous improvement of management system for personal information protection
The Company will prescribe a management system for personal information protection, which our President will personally review in order to continuously revise the management system and implement and improve preventative measures.
In addition, the Company will document all procedures relating to this policy and other necessary matters for personal information protection, and will endeavor to implement the procedures.
Response to complaints and inquiries
The Company will maintain a point of contact to receive and respond to any complaints or inquiries from individuals. Any inquiries should be directed to the point of contact listed at the end of this policy document.
The Company will swiftly and appropriately respond to any complaints or inquiries we receive, and in responding to such inquiries will not use or provide personal information that we have taken in, other than to respond to the complaint or inquiry.
